Oliver Court

Four homes, one connected garden. Oliver Court reimagines an existing property on Oliver Avenue in San Diego as a small residential community, bringing individual homes together around a landscaped pedestrian court.

The proposal works with the existing building fabric to organize three larger family homes and a compact two-bedroom residence. Retained walls, a stepped street frontage and separated building groups shape the arrangement. Everyday living spaces connect to the garden, while upper bedrooms and private terraces create a quieter layer above.

Warm white mineral render, vertical timber cladding, light stone and charcoal window frames give the exterior a clear, tactile character. Planted thresholds soften the transition from street to home. Vehicle access is concentrated at the rear alley, with a proposed mechanical parking arrangement that keeps the central court for people.

Inside, walnut cabinetry, textured stone, soft upholstery and integrated lighting create a consistent atmosphere across the four homes. Fitted kitchens, window-side dining, family workspaces and carefully considered storage bring richness to compact footprints. Each room is developed through furniture layouts, material studies and joinery details.

The selected drawings connect the overall site strategy to the scale of daily use: furnished floor plans, material elevations, inhabited sections, floor cutaways, stair connections, terrace edges and interior joinery.

Design visualizations and selected design-development drawings. The parking system and technical assemblies remain subject to detailed coordination.
