JO's Atelier was founded in Dhaka in 2016 by Shirin Jahan Jamie and Touhid Ahmed Ome. J for Jamie, O for Ome: two initials, one shared practice. Across approximately 60–65 projects, the studio developed its approach through residential, commercial and hospitality work, alongside international design competitions.
In 2023, Jamie and Ome moved to Vancouver, pausing the studio's Bangladesh operations. Ome completed his Master of Urban Design at UBC in 2024, and the Canadian practice launched in 2026 with residential projects in Belcarra, Kitsilano and Richmond. Today, the co-founders lead the studio's Canadian and international work from Vancouver, while our Bangladesh division oversees local operations, project coordination and construction delivery.
Our work starts with the relationship between people and the spaces they use. We bring together spatial planning, materials, furnishings and lighting to create interiors that feel coherent, comfortable and personal.
Residential interiors are at the centre of our Canadian practice. Our wider body of work includes commercial spaces, hospitality proposals and international competition entries, each responding to its own setting and brief.

Jamie co-founded JO's Atelier with Ome in 2016. With a background in architecture from BRAC University, she is part of the shared practice that began in Dhaka and continues in Vancouver.
Divisional Head — Bangladesh
Toufiq leads JO's Atelier's Bangladesh division, overseeing local operations, construction coordination and business development. With a background in computer science and real estate marketing, he works with clients, contractors and the studio's design team to support project delivery. He also serves as Marketing Lead at Shopnoneer Real Estate.
